Seeking where God is – “Rabbi, where are You staying?”. He bids us “Come”. Then we “will see”. See that He is Emmanuel – God with us, and who He is. And stay with it. You never want to go away.
The next day He purposed to go into Galilee, and He found Philip. And Jesus said to him, “Follow Me”. – John 1:43
He plucks us purposefully from different places, into different places. Fisherman (private sector, working class), tax collector (government administration and bureaucracy), political activist (politics)… Called up by God. An irresistible, unmistakable call that keeps nagging, coming back to us.
Not just a call to ministry, but also to discipleship. “Come” – a continuous, daily activity. Learning of His ways. Enjoying the presence of God daily. Where He leads, you go. “See” – just fulfilling the role of eye-witness to the things of God. His miracles and wonders, grace and mercy, love and justice, grief and wrath. See, and know.
