The last few days seem to have passed in a blur, yet also seem to have crawled by by the minute. I looked back at my Gratitude-One-A-Day notes for the last 4 days, which I penned at the end of each day, and they are all the same. “Thankful that J is safe.”
Many things and issues in the past few weeks, even months, now seem trivial in comparison. How little we understand, how little we know, how fleeting and frail our lives!
How wonderful then to have this unchanging hope:
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. – Isa 43:1-3
J is now camping out at Narita. I breathe more easily. J will be home soon.
At the end of today, I know what I will write.
“Thankful that J is safe.”
