Last Sun’s and today’s messages both drew out a specific point – that building the Ark took a rather long time. And that it was done in full view of anyone curious enough to step forward for a closer look. Quite a number of hands on deck too.
Thought about the scores of people who must have walked past, marveling (or mocking) at the construction, yet not really seeing the reality it represented. Planks of gopher wood stood between life and death for the inhabitants of Noah’s Ark. Planks of dissipation, drunkenness, anxieties… kept onlookers outside the Ark.
There was time! And yet there wasn’t.
