So. Many. People. – Part I

So many people. It’s been a while. Yes, this is what it used to feel like. It feels different now.

Comforting old faces. Although my universes collide.

Interesting new faces. Wonder where they come in from, and where they are headed.

Heartening to see that they are so open with each other. Much of what they shared resonates with me.

“Right believing leads to right living” – love it. “Figure out what’s important to you” –  love it. “Value the people around you” – love it.  My fave – “After showers, there’s always something bright to look forward to.”

They seem to know these are the right things. But will all-round expectations and their choices allow them to live these things out? Will they eventually be “successful” on their own terms? Or will they get derailed even as they advance? Their sponsor gave a lot of wise, honest and humourous advice. Amongst other things, she told them to view the many people they will meet in the coming weeks (and the stories they bring and represent) as mirrors to hold up to themselves. In doing so, they may discover useful things about what matters, how to live, and what needs to change.

“It’s good to see a familiar face,” one of them said to me. Yes, although his being able to date me back to TT really is a sign of age! :p
