For some things I think really far ahead. For others, I don’t think at all – until I reach the point of action.
Neither way is always bad. Or good.
In the case of yuzu buttercream though, some thinking ahead might have been good :p
Had everything worked out properly.
(Even had a ‘scout’ cupcake that went into the oven before the others!)
But for the frosting… I chose to go with the mood of the moment.
[Note to self: it’s good, spontaneous fun – but not the wisest thing when you’re trying #352 for the first time, 2 hours before a party! :p ]
Must have spent at least 45min figuring out #352, testing it on parchment paper. Got something going eventually, but never got into the flow. Ended up bored halfway through the process. That’s when the messing around started – resulting in schizophrenic cupcakes :p
Thankfully, I had a forgiving crowd – one that’s used to curiosities. Actually, I think they delight in curiosities. Gotta love them for it 🙂
