It was the switch

Love meeting with BK. She is such an inspiration. Been through so much fire, doing the difficult things that she does… and yet, her humanity, spirit and hope.

More than a year ago she gave me a book – the book that’s on my About page 🙂 Today, she gifted me with another book, all the way from Ireland. John O’Donohue! Sometime in the past year, his poetry resurfaced. For A New Beginning has been a significant poem for me, and continues to be so.

To come home to yourself
May all that is unforgiven in you,
Be released.

May your fears yield
Their deepest tranquilities.

May all that is unlived in you,
Blossom into a future,
Graced with love.

Humbled by her sharing. What a great and detailed God we love and serve! He asks us to pray, and wait. He is always on time.

“There I was, puzzling over the cable, trying to change the plug, questioning my own techniques… but, it was the switch. God had to flip the switch, and it had to be done on His terms, His time.”

“Mum, don’t be so arrogant and think that all the ‘issues’ we have today are solely because of what you and Dad have or have not done… we’re grown up, we’re our own men now. Don’t think everything is because of you, ok? You’ve been good parents. Not perfect, for sure, but definitely good…”

Over the weekend, more springcleaning. And returning to fundamentals. Unearthed stuff that I used to keep constantly up at whichever cubicle I was allocated, to keep myself centred. I still love the truths so much. So precious!
