Make me an instrument

Very recently Nightingale and I had a special project to work on.

We created a musical + visual tribute to God for a friend’s ordination as a pastor. (More correctly, we know both husband and wife, and it was the husband who was being ordained.)

Very meaningful.

It was a song that means a lot to many of us who were singing together in that season of life.  It is a song that continues to be significant – perhaps more so now than before.

The process of visualisation and syncing allowed me lots of time to reflect upon the prayer/song. Left me many thoughts about what it means to be an instrument of God, used by Him. … This is not a prayer to be prayed lightly, if you look carefully at the lyrics!

Reflecting also brought to mind 2 past posts: Steinway & You as a Process, Honour It. Amongst other thoughts.

If you pray to be a blessing, to be a channel of the goodness, love, grace, kindness, peace that is God… then you’d better be prepared to go into dark places. Places where all these are  lacking. And, to go through some shaping,  yourself.
