“I’ve known you for 21 years!”
“Haha, yah, so long, right?”
Some people I know aren’t even as old.
I’ve known M for the better part of my life. I still remember how we used to have matching stuff. Pencilcases, stationery, even schoolbags. We had different hairstyles, otherwise we have had the same hair accessories too! 🙂
One year, M made me a really precious Christmas present. Bought a mini tree, and made all the ornaments on it herself. I still have the tree, lovingly kept in the storeroom. It takes pride of place every Christmas, each ornament still intact. Christmas window-shopping at Tangs used to be one of our favouritest activities during the school holidays. At one point, being a gift-wrapper at Tangs felt like a good career aspiration 🙂
What they say is really true:
Make new friends
But keep the old
One is silver
The other, gold
Celebrate the friendships of our youth. We grow up with and in them, and by God’s grace and preservation, we’ll grow old together the same.
Blessed birthday M! 🙂
