Songs from a heart encouraged

Christmas yuzu raisin butter cake

Am very thankful to have been encouraged this Advent. What a difference from a year before! Am thankful for mental and emotional respite.

This Advent, a number of people dear to me are going through very difficult situations. We are praying hard, and I get updates on phone, email regularly. It hurts to see them in these circumstances. There is much uncertainty – developments we don’t fully understand, decisions to make and daily lives that still need to go on.

But here we are. We cling on to God. We keep our hopes high. What is happening increases our yearning for His second Advent – when He will come again and everything wrong will finally be made right, suffering ends. In the meantime, our strength is in Immanuel – God with us.

Songs I’ve kept with me this season:

I Wish You Christmas (John Rutter)

We Are The Reason (Avalon)

Jesus, Born On This Day (Avalon)

Joy to the World (Avalon)

Angel’s Carol (John Rutter & The Cambridge Singers)

Hark, the Herald Angels Sing! (Take 6)

Jesus, Joy of the Highest Heaven (Keith & Kristyn Getty)

O Come, O Come Emmanuel (The Swingle Singers)

Joseph’s Lullaby (Mercy Me)

He Made A Way In A Manger

Do You Have Room? (Shawna Edwards)

Be Born In Me (Francesca Battistelli)

A Strange Way to Save the World (4 Him)
