Little Lovely J’s 7th birthday tomorrow. Intended to make a card, but ended up writing a book. So amateurish. Nonetheless, tons of fun 🙂
So happy to see both Little Lovelys pleased with their moulting Mawsons. (I have one too – FM was so sweet, bought it for me :)) Also happy to see that the bigger Lovelys liked their honeycomb.
2.5 months in, my experiment in writing/drawing something in each square of the month-to-view calendar is going well. I hope to bring this living record in to end-April’s Ordinary Time retreat, as a sample of what’s possible.
In a way, these entries – tiny scribbles, even tinier doodles – are my Blue Dots. They are gifts, offered day by day like manna. In the present, they are events in a schedule, tasks to be done, appointments to keep, verses I’ve read. In the past, they will become precious memories – often of mundane, ordinary moments. Only in the future will the grace, glory, and truth they contain be really clear.
Not far from home, little Floose met Simeon the seal.
“Hello!” said Simeon, “A bag I spot, and special gifts in those nice blue dots.”
“Pray tell what gifts!”
“You will find out as you go along. Be kind and listen – and you won’t go wrong.”
